@Akaroth most towns had an official executor in medieval times and most of the time they were shunned by everyone else in their county/hamlet/village etc. They could barely ever get a secondary job elsewhere if known as an executioner, hence the black masks to disguise them (albeit 99% of the time, imo, the locals knew who they were) It's a dark job, I doubt I could ever have done that job (and I'm a person who would do most any dirty jobs to make money for my family, by dirty I mean legal menial tasks most find below themselves)

Eh, I don't consider some of these to be evil. I'd be fine with some of them being used on murderers and rapists. They can all suffer, for all I care. Depending on the application, I wouldn't consider some of these to be evil. Now I don't think ANYONE should be flayed alive, and absolutely no woman deserves to have her breasts ripped off... Eh, I guess I'd prefer that all of these ended with death, too. The truly evil part would be to make anyone live after enduring these. Well, as far as the ones that even have the potential to leave you alive.

I'm actually really surprised scaphism wasn't In this one. Personally I think that was one of the worst goddamn execution methods to ever be conceived. It is also known as the boats, essentially you where tied down to wooden boats or such then slathered with all manner of sweet things head too toe naked and then left for the insects. @Zabijavak Most of these torture methods are executions, the difference being however the duration of suffering and the amount of suffering inflicted. The Blood Eagle is excruciatingly painful because your back was split open, your ribs severed and your lungs pulled through the opening. In case you didn't die from shock already, your last moments would be suffering.. The suffering would be short compared to some of the torture methods in the video obviously. But nevertheless not something you would enjoy.

Necklacing isn't nearly as bad as some of the others. I've seen several and every time, the person stops moving after about 30 seconds, they stay still for a while, and then the muscles contract one last time so they shift into a sort of sitting position, and that's it. This indicates they're only conscious for about 20-30 seconds once the flames reach the head. Now contrast that to some of these that could last hours or days and you're conscious to feel it all the whole time...

The worst form of torture is called scaphism! It’s where you are tied to a boat or raft on a lagoon, and you are fed honey and butter and it’s also smeared on your stomach and chest. Then madquitos and other insects slowly eat their way through your body which can last multiple weeks

They still have the rack in the torcher chambers in Nuremberg. It was done with barbed wire. You can go in and see everything in the old torcher chambers. They have a lot of fun stuff that wasn’t even brought up in the video.

To think that these are not just tales but some human beings actually went through through these torture and pain. I just couldn't watch let alone think about it.

I have seen the necklacing in Nigeria, if robbers are caught while stealing and the police did the come to the crime scene on time or even most of the time before the police gets to the location the person has already been burnt alive and they can't hold anyone accountable because it is in between the local govt unspoken rules. It also depends on the community the thief is caught.

I remember last year when a thief was caught by the local vigilante group. The thief that was caught literally jumped on the highway to avoid been tortured and burnt alive, he was hit by a car and sustained some serious injuries. To cut story short, he was burnt alive before evening.

The inventor was thrown into it, executed on the spot after gifting it to his king. The king then used it mercilessly against untold numbers, for his own pleasure. Later, he was overtaken & thrown into it himself, basically concluding this one (very specified) horrible practice.

The person is nailed up and a pointed stake is placed underneath them to serve as their seat. When they slumped, they "pressed their own wound" and hanged stretched-out by the transom. Really shameful to the one so nailed and penetrated. Their desire not to experience horrible pain down there, and sometimes their need to breathe, would guarantee that they would endlessly ****** themselves on this thing until they can no longer stand. 😨😱

Some are still in use... for example that burning car tire is very common method of public executions in poor countries that lack any real justice system. And it works - after seeing as a kid, every now and then a thief getting torched at town market square after being caught - u won't steal.
