There's no point of my family having a tsunami survival pack because if a tsunami reaches where I live in central Missouri then we've got problems far beyond the capacity of anyone to control and we might as well sit back and enjoy the view because we'll be the only people to ever see that exact scene playing out before us.

I am a Turkish teenager who lives in Istanbul. And I have always believed that Tsunamis of such heights could never reach my city, as I live near the coast of The Sea of Marmara. I always thought that the Mediterranean straits like the Gibraltar, Dardanelles and Bosphorus would block and prevent any type of high and catastrophic Tsunamis headed our way. But as I see from the national news, that might not be the case at all. For example, many cities and provinces with a coast to either the Mediterranean or the Black Seas often experience these, well, not Tsunamis but floods. I feel really bad for the people living in those regions. Back in 2021, a tragic flooding catastrophe happened in my country's coastline of the Western Black Sea and took the lives of 82 people like how these situations are currently ongoing in Pakistan. And if you are reading this, please at least give a comment because I am a big fan of your YT channel. 💙

There's a reason why I bought a house 900 - 950 meters above the sea levels. I grew up living next to the ocean and I know how bad it can become just by bad weather. Don't misunderstand me, I love being out on the ocean, but I also prefer to know that my family is safe if something actually happens and a monster wave or a tsunami comes, or if the area around gets flooded.

All good as long as your house stays above sea level. Problem is in an apocalyptic scenario, you could experience enough tectonic shiftment to drop your altitude enough to be caught up. Only way to really avoid earthly cataclysm would be living in the center of a continent. And even then, the whole continent could sink like Atlantas.

Etna is a shield volcano, and they have relatively quiet erruptions. The Hawaiian vocanoes are the same. Vesuvius and Krakatoa are cone volcanoes, and they tend to have violent erruptions. After the erruption of 1883, Krakatoa gradually built up another volcano called Anak Krakatau, or child of Krakatoa. This has had a few small erruptions since, but it is only a matter of time before it has another big one.

I still remember being told there were surfers on the water waiting for the tsunami, and a bunch of other boats including some police. We didnt get impacted as heavily, maybe just a foot of wave that reached, so everyone was safe

I was wondering if they was ever gonna admit or let channels like this one mention how deliberately they could create a tsunami. Imagine if a nuke went of on the ocean floor just a mile or so off of the California coast. With the earth quake potential it would either trigger it immediately or take a hundred years off of the waiting period for the next quake.
Месяц назад
Chris Angus
@David Wayne they have already done that in Russia a number of times and nothing of the sort has happened. Both on land and sea. You would need a nuke about 500kx Hiroshima to even come close to your claim. But I get your line of thinking but we just don't have anything that can cause it yet

Crescent City California here. We know a thing or two about tsunamis due to us being tsunami prone by us being on the coast and out geography in the ocean/ continental shelf leading to the shore. The indigenous tribes here have oral history of a catastrophic tsunami that hit the area about 200 or so years ago. It’s very entertaining to understand that the story has been passed down to present day and hardly anyone knows about it. But there’s also geological evidence in the area that suggests the area was hit by a massive earthquake and tsunami.

5:02 The Chixulub Strike did set off a massive tsunami. BUT. The meteor that struck was vaporized and after it pretty much set off a worldwide inferno. The result of which becoming the KV Barrier. Small mammals able to burrow, "living dinosaurs" like crocodiles and others who could find protection from the atmosphere survived, something incredible, like 70% of life was destroyed on a planetary scale. Most of that percentage occurred in the first hours to days of the impact. I would imagine the rest of that percentage occurred over time as food resources dwindled to nothing.

What is taking place when the sea, withdraws is implosion, it becomes highly energised. When released a wave is formed. It may be possible using laser pulses to switch the energised mode, to passive. This could prevent tidal waves. Energised water is found in plant cells, it supports good health, 60 % of food raw provides a good balance of energised water. Organic fruit and vegetables

Reverse polarity of fluid, the molecular structure of water is spiral, it becomes energised and when released a wave forms. It may be possible to switch of using pulses from laser.

Any vibration or sound can resonate as well as movement or force. Not necessarily a crossing plate. But rather a fast moving lump of half cooled metallic liquid snacking into an even cooler lump of metal because they all spin. And the crust on the ocean floor is thinner and closer to mantle magnetic induction. So the effect of vibration exchange would be easier.

Water receding prior to a tsunami only occurs if you are on the shore that receives the negative wave first! If you are in a location that receives the positive wave first, the water doesn’t recede at all, it just keeps coming!

The wave would happen if the pole locked at a horizontal position. If you take a helicopter and hover over the spot you took off for 10 hours you would land in the same spot. Our atmosphere is moving with the Earth's rotation. An object in motion. We would have wind and water moving faster than the speed of sound. It would be moving the same direction the earth used to be spinning when the poles were vertical. I imagine it would take the proper planetary alignment for this to happen, but it's still possible. That would be the scariest wave imaginable.

If you're married & have 2 cars, idk, maybe you can have 2 kits & then, if you go somewhere together, bring both kits along. A tsunami is not necessarily going to hit only while you're at home.

You can't directly measure a wave height from a ship, it's estimated by observation. The Rampao wave was estimated by triangulation. The Draupner wave was measured by devices that measure changes in water level that were attached to the structure - but that's extremely rare.

Detonating a nuke underwater won't cause nearly as much water displacement as people would think. The deeper it goes the more pressure that will fight against the underwater explosion. Sure heaps would explode into the air if it was detonated a few meters underwate, but i don't think the water would be our main area of concern in that scenario.

Месяц назадChris Angus

Месяц назадsean o gallchoir +1

You can't directly measure a wave height from a ship, it's estimated by observation. The Rampao wave was estimated by triangulation. The Draupner wave was measured by devices that measure changes in water level that were attached to the structure - but that's extremely rare.

I wonder in their tape measures got rusty or if they use non metallic ones

I still remember the Boxing Day tsunami of 2004. Being from the Maldives, seeing the sea literally rise up and submerge our islands every 5-7 minutes was terrifying. But the worst was knowing there was no where we could run as it’s all islands.

It is a little strange how I came across this video because not long ago I had a dream that planet earth tilted completely on its side. @TEP I'm an engineer I only read about Engineering from the past up till today. As this is my passion I do not read any "fantasy" novel's. HAVE you never had a dream that felt so real that even in the daytime you think to yourself this was so real because this one really did that to me,AND I very rarely remember my dreams. Knowing that there is a book out there as only made me fear my dream more so thank you for being so cynical and judgemental and assuming because you know what they say about people that assume don't you
