There was an impact crater found in 2018 that roughly dates to the Younger Dryas period. Findings suggest a comet strike. That would explain the sudden ending of the last ice age. A sudden warming, and then a sudden freeze due to the dust thrown up into the atmosphere. This concurs with flood myths from around the world, all telling the same story of a deluge, like the flood in the Bible. @Pancak3Mix mate there's another guy that goes on the JRE and explained how they drilled miles of ice of ice off one of the deepest ice caps (don't remember exactly where from) and through analysing the composition of the ice at different depths which correlate to different points in time, and they are able to perceive what was going on in the world at that time. I have welded glass marbles, pieces of metal and rocks to bricks with water as my welding medium. I built an electrolyzer that makes HHO or Brown's gas as some call it. It makes a lot of sense that there was at one time humans in Antartica, the timeline would have to be traced with how the earths climate developed. For example we know humans crossed the Bearing Strait during an ice age, so maybe the worlds climate was changing more rapidly during certain periods. Maybe there is a correlation that could be found with humans in Antartica due to extreme heat on the earth, like maybe volcanic action. Antartica may have been safe and warm, and then it might have been followed by an ice age due to smoke that blocked out the sun, and the earth would have become freezing mostly at the poles first and the people would have migrated to the equator, which then spawns pyramids in Egypt. Just a thought.

@Ethan Mann Sure, most of what you have said is true, but the Earth has changed rapidly. It could be possible our Earths axis has shifted and caused there to be a change in habitable zones however.

Not to discredit or devalue your claim Dustin but what real evidence is given to support this idea. We have not discovered complex settlements or civilizations located near or around the Ellsworth mountain range that could begin to suggest it was possible to house a workforce of such strength to build what would be the largest pyramid. I think the idea itself is intriguing, however not factually supported. To not only house and feed a workforce there is also the case that the climate itself is and has been unbearable. Antarctica itself can not be seen as a place where people migrated from. Mankind has long largely lived in places of warmth, it is in our nature for we lack bodily hair and layers of fat needed to support living in an inhospitable place such as Antarctica.

Antarctica was a frozen wasteland way before modern humans evolved, let alone crossed the Bering Strait. mind you, that Antarctica still wouldn't have been settled by anyone because there's no land to be crossed in order to go there. at best you'd have to go across about 900km of open Ocean. and for what? arriving in an environment so barren and cold that living there as a hunter-gatherer wouldn't make any sense compared to Tierra Del Fuego. + agriculture is just impossible in such an extreme climate

I’m going deep 😂 Koh ker in Cambodia looks awe fully close to where science appears to show both our magnetic’poles’ are heading towards. I would imagine that the ancient people were well aware of such knowledge on magnetism and alike. Yeah I don’t get the paper they released. The Core stops! 1) stop to our perspective here on Earth only or 2) does it stop still and our Earth moves cyclically and tries to slosh it round with Earth rotation continuing? This is true -the outer core does spin counter to the core which creates a torus field. Likely hasn’t stopped entirely, but slowed down to almost a stop. Maybe Lovecrafts work weren't as fictitious as has been made to believe. The Mountains of Lang still gives me chills, and the setting for that story was in Antarctica. Yes, I too felt that this seemingly was too illogical to follow. How can one support that which has no evidence? In order to be factual or insightful in the fields of educational studies this video would need to have artifacts, written language or infrastructure to convince one of the quite far fetched ideas made in the video. Sometimes I wonder about these types of questions. Then I wonder why couldn't they just be smart and advance enough to build such structures? To be considered advanced they wouldn't have had to be at our technological level. Perhaps they were at the technological level of Ancient Egypt, Greece, Persia, China, India, or perhaps Rome. The problem is we know the human population was very small and that a bottleneck occurred in history, where perhaps as few as 10k humans survived. I think it's possible, even plausible that there have been 10 or 20 semi-advanced populations over the past 100,000 years, that rose and fell. But one as advanced as we are today is highly unlikely.

The higher the technology the more vulnerable to disaster and destruction it is. Imagine what would be left of a modern cell phone after 20 years of inactivity and exposure to the elements. Likewise the current construction methods and materials are vulnerable to weathering and deterioration and they would return to their elemental forms in short order. By a few hundred years of weathering little would be recognizable and more likely akin to the Iron deposits we mined around the great lakes earlier in the 20th century.

@beertrain I think that might actually have been the reward. The Sumerians built ziggurats, basically pyramids, as symbols of their awesomeness so everyone for miles and miles around would be impressed. They also had temples on the top so religion was a factor as well. The Sumerians used them as a palace though which is quite different from the Egyptian pyramids, whether they were tombs originally or not they seem like monuments meant to demonstrate the great power of whoever built them. I mean all that effort for a tomb alone seems silly, but as a symbol of a great society I can see it being worth the effort.

@Steven Hunt i believe our evidence of ET life would be in the same stories we get the floods from. Pretty much all civilizations say a superior being came and taught them everything they knew, commonly from the sky. If i traveled in time and flew to natives in a helicopter, gave them an iPhone, lighters, etc. They’d probably say I was a god in their stories. The biggest supporter of this claim is the fact that the Mayans, Egyptians, and Turks, (could be many more) all depict this knowledge passed onto them, coming in the form of a handheld bag. If you haven’t seen this bag, look it up. Very odd that it’s in the same exact shape and same circumstance for everyone.

And from these survivors we get the stories of giants and great floods.

I'm not doubting continental drift however, I think the Earth used to spin on a slightly different axis, where Antarctica was not always Frozen. Perhaps we got hit by an impactor that changed the actual angle of rotation along time ago.

Earths axis of rotation isn't stable. It drifts around, and starting around 2000 or so it started wandering a bit.

True, Antarctica was once on the equator according to tropical fossils and plants found there. Earth is very dynamic and due to it's extremely old age vs our short existence, things seem stable.

A basic principle of engineering (without the more advanced techniques we have today for skyscrapers) is the higher up you build the more sturdy and wide the base of a structure needs to be. This always creates a pyramid shape. I've never understood why people think it's more plausible for it to be aliens responsible for the resulting shape instead.

Nice summary Hancock's work. But you should correct your statement at 13:00. The cataclysmic period was 12 800 - 11 600 BP (not BC). That is around 9000 years before Solon told us about the destruction of the Atlantis. Solon lived 600 BC. So it is 9600 BC.

When it comes to pyramids, I like to think of them as landing pads. After seeing Stargate, I wonder more and more about that. I wish I could watch time in reverse to see how far back human history goes and how much we have it wrong. There are so many unanswered questions that to think we have ANY part of it right is naive at best. It makes me wonder how technology evolved within those ancient civilizations and how they were lost. What were ancient people able to do that we can't?

Fascinating how small Antarctica is depicted as on a globe.... Not being legal to explore it, considering it's allegedly bigger than Canada, is odd.

@DesertSessions93 plan an adventure, get yourself a polar expedition permit and have fun. Things are off limits because it's extremely easy to die in Antarctica, there is literally no help and nowhere to go if things go wrong. Which is what the permit is for, you need to prove you can handle what you want to do there, so plan well and have fun.

You can explore it legally, you can buy a cruise ticket and go there. People try and cross it on foot every now and then, if you want to go there you can go there if you can afford it.

Perhaps Antarctica houses Atlantis. Wouldn't be so farfetched, Atlantis was flooded with water and sunk, but it never specified what state the water was in. Also could've still been liquid water but now is snow 😂
