I wouldnt be totally surprised if there were nuclear weapons or other things similar to what we have today, but the further back we go the more primitive we are. We wouldnt have been incapable of discovering nuclear power but likely to immediately try to play god with the power in the absence of the proper science needed to fully understand it. We finally just became advanced enough to understand and control our discoveries, although, i'm sure we'll eventually discover an even larger power that we cant control and we get set back again. I'm calling shenanigans right here. There's a thing called radioactive half life. For radiation levels to be similar to those found in Hiroshima, the area would have to be exposed to a nuclear explosion at a similar point in time. 2 questions: Was there volcanic activity and was there radioactive dormant material that might have been activated by fire??

I've always said it and will always say it that if you keep Ancient Indian texts and modern science together, you can achieve things that are unimaginable.

I'd like to know what unexpected radioactivity has lasted several thousand years. Highly radioactive isotopes are necessarily shorter lived than slightly radioactive ones like plutonium 239, half life 24,000 years which was proof of a water-moderated natural fission reactor. Uranium 233 is also a neutron capture product, fissile like Pu-239, half life 160,000 years. It's a long time since I learned the fact that a large enough bolide has impact energy enough to create radioactivity, but not necessarily radioactive waste.

It coitus also be possible that a large civilization that is prosperous with trading gather and cataloging different minerals and components to find uranium or something else, and stock piling it without knowing really what it was.
